Preparing for HomeOwnership
Homebuyer Education
Utilizes the "Realizing the American Dream" curiculum, a 5-chapter common sense approach to homeownership published by American's Banker Association, National Foundation for Consumer Credit and to NeighborWorks® America. The afternoon focues on home maintenance & preserving homeownership, illustrating do-it-yourself, preventive maintenance procedures, what to know before hiring a contractor, home safety, good neighbor training, and foreclosure prevention. Available online in English and Spanish, with over 50 video tutorials, eHome America is the most comprehensive online home buyer training course available. Home buyers learn at their own pace and are held accountable with integrated quizzes and tests, obtaining a certificate of completion after completing the full course, from NeighborWorks® Sacramento Region. The cost for the eight-hour course is $50.
